Beer

Just found some beer options available at Mandalay while we play our table/slot games.

Let's Go to Harrahs

When I arrive, 9:15pm, I'll look around for stragglers and anyone that's lost before I head to Mandalay Bay. Nicole said she arrives at 5pm so perhaps she can carpool with Rusty, Esq.

11:30ish start heading up to PH, Harrahs, etc. That will be our walking night. I'll even get the 3 foot slushie drink!

Saturday. On second thought we should go to Ellis Island then Kareoke.  We can hit up one more casino or something that way we are mostly chilling, not running around everywhere with concerts?

Friday Night Festivities

Time is of the essence, folks! #YOGTVOOTPY,MOL! Friday is arrival day, with multiple waves hitting LAS throughout the evening.

5ish Finkel: Rusty Shackelford
7: Tad Gosselink and the Southwest BFF drinking crew.
Niner: Don and Dona BZA

Luggage pickup and travel to Mandalay Bay should take 45 minutes, plus an additional 45 for check-in and freshening.

Rusty can take a cab or share a towncar to the hotel, or wait on the rest of the crew at the airport (don't lose all your money at the airport slots)

My plan is to head to the Mandalay bay bar with craft beer options until everyone arrives, then we make our way onto the strip for a few hours.

Does anyone have any ideas for Friday night excursions? Comment or post!

Sent from my smartphone

1. Locate a bar with ample available video poker machines and an attentive bartender.
2. Pull a $20 bill from your pocket and make a show of putting the money in the video poker machine.
3. Order a call drink or a craft beer.
4. Play $0.25/credit Deuces Wild
5. Place a $1.25 wager on your first poker hand and draw cards.
6. Select the cards you would like to replace and wait.
7. If the bartender looks your way, play the machine.
8. When the bartender returns your drink, tip promptly and play a hand.
9. At all times, play slowly. Think about the proper play. Wait for the card you need to appear. Search for your Chip Chip. Enjoy your drink. Make a friend.

Las Vegas Memories: February 2000

Las Vegas Memories

 (Update text later)
On my first-ever trip to Las Vegas, my friend Paul and I stayed two nights at the Tropicana (renovated, but still there). We stayed in a ground floor hotel room that opened to the pool area. I walked from the hotel room to the Venetian to see Tanya (2.1 miles).  I won 70 bucks in blackjack right off the bat. I had chicken Parmesan at a restaurant (no longer there) above Casino Royale to celebrate my good luck. Hours later, I lost everything I had won and another $150 to boot at the Barbary Coast (now the Cromwell by way of Bill's Gamblin' Hall). I have never made that $150 back. We visited the Boardwalk casino (gone), rode the roller coaster(gone) atop the Stratosphere, and then stayed downtown at Lady Luck (now, finally, the Downtown Grand). I fell in love with the Bellagio sports book, with their free drinks, big screen televisions, and oh, the leather chairs. Those were the days when Caesar's owned Caesar's, Harrah's owned Harrah's, MGM owned the MGM, and Luxor, Excalibur, and Mandalay Bay were owned by Circus Circus. There were such things as cheap buffets, dollar blackjack, and coin-operated slot machines. Of course, you had to walk uphill both ways in the desert to find them.
